Join us on one of our informative tours to discover how the unique Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaf Mallee is grown, harvested, and distilled to produce our unique and versatile 100% pure Australian Eucalyptus Oil. Learn all about one of the major industries on Kangaroo Island and Australia's first actual export overseas.
The 30-minute tour will take you down to the distillery, passing our curious resident emu11 and the original Macgillivray Post Office along the way while enjoying the natural bush setting and collection of antique farm implements and equipment dotted about the grounds. At the end of the guided tour, we visit the charmingly rustic shop, partially constructed with materials from the old shearing shed, to discover our range of beautiful natural products. Once inside, you will enjoy a short DVD showing historical and recent footage of the oil production process. We will then give your an informative talk about some of our unique products.
We are delighted to be the cellar door for the award-winning Kangaroo Island Ciders. The ciders are produced from a variety of cider and dessert apples grown locally by Graham and Mary Jones on their Kangaroo Island property. Their apples are crushed and pressed to produce juice that is slowly fermented at low temperatures using natural and added wine yeasts. All of the ciders are made from 100% apple juice with no added preservatives or sugars. When you book in for a Cider tasting you will enjoy a paddle of the Original, Draught, Vintage, and Non-Alcoholic Apple Sparkler Cider.
Depending on your booking, guests will enjoy a lunch and/or cider tasting in our rustic dining setting. They can purchase local beverages or a coffee if desired, or they will enjoy wandering in the shop checking out our local produce and artisans until it is time to have lunch.
Non-group Café bookings can be made through our website here https://www.emuridge.com.au/cafe/
